FY1995 April Akita Municipal Junior College of Arts and Crafts established. (First president: Hideo Ishihara) (Developed out of a special program offered by Akita City Vocational School of Arts and Crafts, which was founded in 1952. Akita City Vocational School of Arts and Crafts became a high school attached to Akita Municipal Junior College of Arts and Crafts.)
FY1996
April
College Extension Center “Atelier Momosada” opened.
Department of Handicrafts was restructured from a five-course program grouped by materials to an eight-course selective program.
FY1997
April
First students entered the special course.
Our school buildings received several awards from May 1997 to November 2000. (Good Design Facility Award in 1997, 13th Akita City Landscape Design Award selected by citizens for “Atelier Momosada,” etc.)
FY1998 March First “Teachers Exhibition” held at the Atorion (cultural complex facility in Akita City).
FY1999 October Alma mater and school emblem introduced.
FY2001 April Yoshimi Ishikawa appointed president.

Fine Art Course newly established in the Department of Handicrafts.
May General meeting of Japan Association of Public Junior Colleges held at the school.
September Renovation of Practical Training Building A completed.
March First “Graduate Exhibition” held at the Atorion (cultural complex facility in Akita City) (off-campus exhibition).
FY2003
September Renovation of Practical Training Building B completed.
October Letter and memorandum of agreement signed regarding credit transfer among universities, junior colleges, and specialized vocational high schools in Akita Prefecture (launched April 2004).

Renovation of Practical Training Building C completed.
“College Festival,” a pre-event for the 10th anniversary of the school establishment, held.
“Araya Cityscape Design Symposium”
March Renovation of exhibition room of the College Extension Center completed.
FY2005 September Ceremony and celebration event for the 10th anniversary of the school establishment held.

April
Department of Industrial Design restructured from three-course program to nine-course program.
Web Design Course newly established.
FY2007

April

Toyojiro Hida appointed president.
“College System Investigation Committee” launched to study the ideal form of the college towards the future.
Public Design Course newly established in the Department of Industrial Design.
